“Tekort zorgpersoneel wegwerken met beter gecoördineerde aanpak”

Het Vlaams Belang vindt dat bijkomende initiatieven die tegemoet moeten komen aan het acute tekort aan zorgpersoneel zich opdringen. Dit niet alleen omwille van de coronapandemie, maar ook omdat er sprake is van de grootste stijging van het aantal zorgvacatures in ruim 20 jaar. In de hele sector staan er meer dan 8.000 vacatures open. “Deze vacatures kunnen enkel weggewerkt worden door de fundamentele oorzaken van het personeelstekort aan te pakken”, zegt Vlaams Parlementslid Immanuel De Reuse.
Volgens het Vlaams Belang is er duidelijk veel meer nodig dan enkel de oproep van bevoegd minister Wouter Beke (CD&V) om Vlamingen “ambassadeur” voor de Vlaamse zorg- en welzijnssectoren te maken. “Er moet een stuurgroep opgericht worden die alle initiatieven evalueert, coördineert, aanstuurt, maar ook bijstuurt.”

In Vlaanderen staan er momenteel meer dan 2.300 vacatures voor zorgkundigen open. Het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek (CBS) spreekt over een recordaantal. In veel onmisbare zorgberoepen worden de helpende handen dus steeds schaarser met alle gevolgen van dien. “De instroom naar de zorgberoepen moet structureel vergroot worden”, reageert De Reuse. “Een stuurgroep met een langetermijnvisie die vanuit vogelperspectief met alle sectoren in overleg gaat, kan hier soelaas bieden.”
Het Vlaams Belang wil met de oprichting van een stuurgroep sectoren zoals Onderwijs wat de opleidingen betreft, Economie inzake de zijinstroom, maar ook Media voor de positieve beeldvorming over de beroepsgroep, betrekken. “Kortom, overal vanwaar we expertise kunnen halen om een ommekeer in het zorgpersoneeltekort te realiseren”, duidt De Reuse. “We moeten de input uit deze departementen stroomlijnen en hierna omzetten in coherent en duidelijk beleid. Want ons zorgpersoneel verdient beter, en mag niet langer lijden onder de te hoge werkdruk.”
