De stiptheid van de treinen is nog altijd even slecht als in oktober. “Deze belabberde stiptheidscijfers zijn helaas geen verrassing voor wie vaak de trein neemt”, zegt Kamerlid Frank Troosters, die vindt dat Georges Gilkinet (Ecolo) zijn bevoegdheid als Mobiliteitsminister misbruikt. “In plaats van groene fatwa’s over firmawagens uit te spreken, zou hij zich beter richten op de problemen bij de NMBS. Zoeken naar bliksemafleiders helpt niemand en al zeker de pendelaar niet vooruit.”
85,3 procent van de NMBS-treinen kwam in de maand november met maximaal zes minuten vertraging aan in Brussel of in het eindstation. Hiermee is de stiptheid niet verbeterd ten opzichte van de maand voordien. Die bedroeg in oktober namelijk 85,2 procent, wat het laagste niveau was sinds november 2018. In november vorig jaar bedroeg de stiptheid toch nog 90,8 procent. De stiptheid van de NMBS over het volledige jaar dreigt hiermee voor 2022 onder de 90 procent uit te komen. Dit zou eveneens de eerste keer zijn sinds 2018. Bovendien werden er afgelopen maand 3.202 treinen gedeeltelijk of volledig geschrapt. Dat komt overeen met 3,7 procent van alle treinen. In november 2021 was dat 3,3 procent.
“NMBS gaat onder Gilkinet niet vooruit, maar enkel achteruit”
“Deze belabberde stiptheidscijfers zijn helaas geen verrassing voor wie vaak de trein neemt”, zegt Troosters. “Treinen die door technische problemen met minder wagons rijden, of helemaal niet, zijn tegenwoordig bijna meer regel dan uitzondering. Men zou nagenoeg heimwee krijgen naar de coronaperiode waarbij thuiswerk de regel was.”
Volgens het Vlaams Belang misbruikt Mobiliteitsminister Georges Gilkinet (Ecolo) zijn bevoegdheid om zijn groen wereldbeeld door te duwen. “In plaats van groene fatwa’s over firmawagens uit te spreken, zou hij zich beter richten op de problemen bij de NMBS”, aldus Troosters. “Het is namelijk zijn beleid dat de pendelaars terug in de wagen duwt en voor meer files zorgt. Zoeken naar bliksemafleiders helpt niemand en al zeker de pendelaar niet vooruit.“
