Het Vlaams Belang is er niet over te spreken dat minister van Pensioenen Karine Lalieux (PS) werkgevers voortaan wil beboeten wanneer ze onvoldoende 60-plussers in dienst nemen. “Boetes en bestraffingen zijn geen productieve of menselijke manier van werken”, zegt Kamerlid Ellen Samyn. “Vivaldi zou beter eindelijk werk maken van stimulerende maatregelen.”
Het voorstel van Lalieux maakt deel uit van een breder plan waarmee de minister wil aantonen dat de PS wel degelijk tot hervormingen zou willen komen. “Naar eigen zeggen hoopt ze dat de onderhandelingen begin maart al zullen kunnen landen”, aldus Samyn. “Maar dat is hoegenaamd niet zeker, wel integendeel.” Het Vlaams Belang hecht er weinig geloof aan dat die streefdatum bereikt zal worden.

De partij merkt ook op dat minister Lalieux niet wil dat de pensioenhervorming deel uitmaakt van de budgetcontrole. “Dat is bijzonder veelbetekenend”, vervolgt Samyn. “Het geen deel uitmaken van een budgetcontrole betekent niets meer of minder dan dat het geheel de belastingbetaler extra geld zal kosten.”
“Het plan van Lalieux is een zoveelste ‘kruimelwetgeving’, waar de Vlaming niets mee opschiet”, besluit Samyn. “De Vlaming heeft nood aan een echte grondige pensioenhervorming om te krijgen waar hij of zij recht op heeft. Dat betekent onder meer een volledig pensioen na een voltijdse loopbaan van veertig jaar. In plaats van werkgevers te bestraffen en beboeten zou Vivaldi beter hun loonlasten verlagen. Dat zou wél helpen om ervaren 60-plussers in dienst te kunnen nemen.”
