Verplichte renovatie van woning voor velen onbetaalbaar

Vlaams Parlementslid Adeline Blancquaert (Vlaams Belang) verzet zich tegen Het voorstel van Vlaams minister van Energie Zuhal Demir (N-VA), zoals geformuleerd op de Vlaamse klimaatministerraad van afgelopen vrijdag, om eenieder die een zogenaamde energieverslindende woning aankoopt tot een renovatie hiervan te verplichten. “Wat onder ‘energieverslindende woningen’ wordt begrepen, is volstrekt onduidelijk”, zegt Vlaams Parlementslid Adeline Blancquaert. “En het mag niet de bedoeling zijn een enorme druk te leggen op kopers van een woning, vaak jonge gezinnen.”
Demir wil dat kopers van een woning deze binnen enkele jaren moeten renoveren, en dit om de CO2 -uitstoot sterk te beperken. “Ze viseert woningen met een slechte EPC-waarde”, aldus Blanquaert. “Maar naar welk EPC-niveau die woningen dan moeten worden opgetrokken, daar heeft ze geen enkel idee van.”
“We zijn voor maatregelen die renovaties kunnen versnellen, maar absoluut tegen een verplichte renovatie”
“Een verplicht renovatie zorgt voor een enorme meerkost, die het financieel heel moeilijk zal maken voor de jonge gezinnen die hun eerste huis kopen. Het feit dat Demir de verplichte renovatie aan een premiestelsel wil koppelen, verandert daar uiteraard niets aan”, vervolgt Blancquaert. “Kopers van woningen hebben al heel wat verplichtingen, en een renovatieverplichting zal de nu al hoge huizenprijzen alleen maar naar boven stuwen.”
“Demir maakt een serieuze bocht, want de N-VA voerde twee jaar geleden nog de voorstellen over zo’n renovatieplicht af”, merkt Blancquaert tot slot op. “Maar de N-VA zou natuurlijk de N-VA niet zijn mochten er geen serieuze bochten gemaakt worden.”
